Pumpkins and Sunflowers

Its pumpkins and sunflowers time!!! What a great representative of fall. The Design Team's challenge this month was to choose a color - orange or yellow??? With that being said, they had no idea why they were even being asked what color had to do with their project ... hee hee!!! They then each got a file to think outside of the box with the color. HMMMM, guess its time for the reveal, huh??? Our wonderful Design Team for this hop consists of: Lynne - http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/

I hope you enjoyed our little hop for this month. With feature attractions, The Design Team will be asked to do a project with the "theme" "Come Sit a Spell" for October 16, 2012. So, with that being said, mark your calendars and plan to "sit a spell" to see how we think outside of the chair for next month.

Reading, ’Riting, and ’Rithmetic Blog Hop

School days, school days
Dear old golden rule days
Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic
Taught to the tune of the hickory stick
You were my queen in calico
I was your bashful barefoot beau
And you wrote on my slate"I love you, so"
When we were a couple of kids

The three Rs, a widely used abbreviation for the basic elements of a primary school curriculum: reading, ’riting (writing), and ’rithmetic (arithmetic) which is what the theme is for this month's Her Craft Kre8tions challenge!

Each Design Team member has received a piece of chalkboard paper approximately 6 x 6-inches. Now, where the challenge lies, is Design Team member is to create a "school" type theme whether it be a class lesson or something that their beau or them could have written on their slate. We're going to see how creative this piece of chalkboard paper can be made into with their "School Lesson" of "readin', 'ritin' and 'rithmatic.

We have a great line-up of super creative talent along with our Design Team Page:

The Answer My Friend Is Blowing In The Wind

Yes, how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea ?
Yes, how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free ?
Yes, how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Today's craft challenge for Her Craft Krea8tions was to make something that "blows in the wind". Each design team member received beads, chimes, nightmare fishing line, a jingle bell, and a twirly thingie dooie (that's a technical term!). Everyone was encouraged to add things from their stash to make it their own and to go "green" without buying anything additional!!!!

With this all being said, everyone and the fishing line were not on "speaking terms". Lynne Kirsh had knots galore and would give up and pitch it and her one cat would return it expecting her either to throw again or finish ... your guess is as good as her's! Several never ever want to see fishing line again!!!!! Thus, the grand prize will be 100 yards of fishing line .... ha ha, just kidding!!!! It will be a surprise package to one lucky recipient that remarks on everyone's stop along the way!

The line-up is as follows:

Miss Jackie does not have a photograph to share, but has a great story you don't want to miss. So Please make sure you stop by her blog too.

We thank you for stopping by today and checking out this one super creative group of ladies!!!! Next month, please stop by again as the theme will be "reading, ritin' and ritmatic" which will be August 3rd.

Thinking Outside The Yolk

Welcome to Her Craft Kre8tions first ever Blog Hop which we are calling Thinking Outisde the Yoke. Each Design Team Member was given a paper mache egg and were to transform this into something other than what was given to them originally. Our Design Team is to think outside of the "card" and do something other than cards and layouts.

What a challenge .... could you meet this challenge?

Check out our incredible creative Design Team . . . .

Let's start with thinking outside of the yoke of our eggs . . . .

This is what we started with...

HerCraftKre8tionsDesignTeam ~ http://her-craft-kre8tions.blogspot.com/ (you are here)

Here are the creations that our Design Team members came up with.   I do believe they thought outside the yolk and did a great job on this challenge.  I know it was not easy for them and it was super hard for me.

Lynne: I am basically new to paper crafting but have tried almost every type of crafting there is from sculpting porcelain dolls to quilts. After my accident in 2007 and shattering my left arm, I needed to find a creative outlet and paper-piecing and crafting is the purrfect fit for me as the paper-piecing is sew much like quilting combining pretty paper into a special project! Can't wait to take the next step of my journey with thinking outside the box with our new Design Team!

Kimberly:  (not Kim please) I have been paper crafting for a year now.  I have a simplistic nature about my designs, but I am working to change some (yes, only some) of that each time I sit down to craft. I enjoy trying new tips and techniques, and find myself doing a lot of research looking for something new to add to my designs.  Someday, I hope to have a nice business with my card making.  I am excited to be a partner with Lynne in this design team, and even more excited at the list of talented women who are joining us.

Carolyn:   I love to craft. I try not to pigeon-hole myelf as a paper-crafter, but the much more general 'crafter'. I love to experiment and mix things up a bit, especialy if I can manage to add textiles, fibres, wool, and yarn to my projects. My style varies a lot depending on the project, but if it is tattered, torn, distressed or grungy it is likely to be mine. I was so pleased to join this team alongside some wonderful women, as Lynne and Kimberly stressed FUN in their invitation and I have a passionate belief not only that there is creativity in everyone, but that we can all benefit enormously from just playing and having fun! It is part of my blog title and part of my mission in life. Even my more serious side, selling my art and felt, has the subtitle '...created with joy'. Let's smile!

Colleen:  I am a scrapper and a paper hoarder! :) I'm a single Mom to 5 youngin's and my job is scrapbooking. I have been scrapping for years and years, but almost 2 years ago discovered paper piecing and I have been addicted since!! I am an artsy person, so I like to draw my own when I have the time, which doesn't happen as often as I would like! I have recently started making cards, even tho I consider myself "card-challenged". lol I do like trying new things and love looking at other people's work to get ideas and inspiration, or even to just admire their talents. I have glue issues..... it's a love/hate relationship... I always end up with something stuck to me somewhere! And when I have a hot gluegun in my hand, RUN! lol I was so very honored to be asked to join this team and very excited to see what everyone brings to the team with their own style.

I have been blessed to have my photography displayed into galleries and shows in the last few years. I have even been fortunate to sell some pieces. Photography has always been something I loved thats how I got into scrapbooking, I had to do something with all my pics. I want to design books for my family that they will proud to have and display. Janet:  I’m 64 years young,. My husband and I have been married for 39 years and have one very beautiful , talented, caring  daughter, 3 awesome grand kids a dog and a cat. I’m a Registered Nurse by profession and work in an Alzheimer and dementia unit. I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember. I taught myself to knit at the age of 9 or 10 using pieces I broke off of a metal coat hanger. a small hank of yarn from my grandma’s stash of scraps and a how to book from the library. I sew, crochet, have painted Gold Pans when I lived in Alaska, and have done cards off and on with the computer for many years, My daughter introduced me to scrap booking the modern way, I enjoy it but I fuss over my pages a lot, she can complete 5 to my one easily. I have had a cricut for about 4 years and it sat in the box until last June. I had tried and failed miserably to cut out images ( wasted lots of paper) so I put it away. Last year I came across “Above Ruby Studios” blog where I found many video tutorials and  a paper cutting guide, she had compiled, that was awesome. I am now an avid paper crafter and a hoarder of paper can't go to the craft store without something catching my eye and I just have to have it.  I am very excited and honored to have been invited to join this great group of wonderfully talented ladies and look forward to creating  and thinking "outside" the box!!!

Lisa: I am a SAHM and wife to a wonderful husband, 4 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have a business as a professional soapmaker, but love all forms of crafting in my spare time. I am originally from North Carolina, and growing up, my dad shared the importance of finding what you need in everyday things and thinking outside of the box. This definitely benefits me as a crafter. I love the continuing challenge and “newness” of crafting.

Rachelle:  Mom to 4 and a Homeschool Mom to 2, I love Paper Crafting and also enjoy Crocheting and Knitting, I love making baby blankets and have a blog for that too Lol..
My favorite thing to do is designing cards, although I have been enjoying thinking out of the box and trying new things. I have been working at trying to start my own greeting card business, it pays for my Paper Crafting Habit.
I am honored to be asked to be part of the team and excited to see what everyone does.

Tina: AKA Crafty and Green in the Crafting World!! I'm an energetic SAHM of two active Kiddos. My daughter, Lizzy, is four and my son, Jimmy, is three. I've been married to my Disabled Veteran Hubby for almost 6 years and we live in Marlboro Township, Ohio. I originally started scrapbooking 8 years ago when my hubby and I were just engaged and he was in Iraq. It's something I did with the other moms, wives & Girlfriends to pass the time while the guys were deployed.  Once I got married & Pregnant, I stopped crafting since I was so busy. I Just started crafting last June again and that's when I started my blog Crafty and Green. I have now fallen in love with Stamping, card making and of course my new found obsession with Copic Markers. When I started back to crafting in June last year, I started with just Cricut Crafting, but found that I love coloring stamps & digi stamps the best! Everyday I'm learning! I have now ventured out to try some different types of crafts and crafting "outside" of the box so to speak. I'm Excited to start this new venture with these talented ladies and push myself to become a better, more well rounded crafter!!
